On a mountain where iguanas sleep in the shadows of the trees, corn and poppy grow. The girls of the village wear short hair as if they were boys and they all go to a hiding place under the ground like a grave.
Ana, 8 years old, grows up with two great friends, Paula and Maria. They kill snakes, inhabit the houses of those who fled and play at being women.
At a time of increasing violence, they have created their own world. But one day, one of them can not reach the hiding place.
